Alia Bhatt is set to make her production debut with an ambitious Netflix original series titled ‘Poacher’, which will focus on wildlife conservation and the illegal ivory trade. The ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ star revealed that she will both produce and play the lead role in this 8-episode thriller created by Emmy-winning director Richie Mehta. The series, budgeted at ₹120 crore, will be shot across multiple locations including Kenya, Assam, and Mumbai. Bhatt stated that this project is particularly close to her heart as it combines her passion for acting with her commitment to environmental causes. Netflix has already greenlit two seasons of the show, with filming scheduled to begin in early 2024.
